(Seattle Sundays) Gas Works Park, and Dicks Drive IN

Gas Works Park in Seattle

Another beautiful day in Seattle.

We spent some time at Gas Works Park, and then headed for Discovery Park. By the time we made it - we no longer wanted to hike, and settled for a Dicks burger instead!

Senior Prom

Tonight was Senior Prom.
It was also a beautiful sunny day in Seattle, and also the first Saturday with our home on the market. Spenser was trying to get ready in between us getting phone calls to leave for people to look at the house.

On the market

I've made my deadline, and the house listed today.
It's very depressing to see my house on the internet.

(Seattle Sundays) Eastern WA, Walla Walla and Palouse Falls

Spenser had his last JROTC drill competition in Walla Walla Washington this weekend. It's about 5 hours away, so I invited Audrey along - and so off to lovely Walla Walla Washington for the weekend. On the way back we went through Dayton and Starbuck, and then to Palouse falls. Palouse falls is located in the dry, brown, and hot part of the state. It's in the middle of a canyon that you can't even see from the road. It's quite a surprise when you come upon it.

This was probably the last time I will watch my baby compete. :-( Whitney even drove down from Spokane to watch

Tired, Tired, Tired and Done.

Ahhhh... I'm sick of cleaning.
Cleaning, touch up painting, and more cleaning.
... and now I just realized I have to hire someone to clean the windows!

I could still be ready on Monday - but I need a day or two of no rain so that I can stain the deck, and I will be in Walla Walla all weekend. I'm thinking Wednesday is more likely.

I'm tired. My husband is tired. My son is tired (and sometimes cranky). Ripley is tired from following me around all day. We are just done with all of this.

I'm attaching a picture of my nice clean kitchen in VA, cause I can't stand to look at the one here anymore.

Coming up for air

The last week is a blur. We are all exhausted.
We managed to load the first truck (16 feet), none of our teenage boys managed to show up, so it was just the three of us. We worked long and hard, and two hours after the truck left - I took Roger to the Dr to find out that he was hobbling around working with two small pieces of bone broken off his foot! They've immobilized it, but he will need surgery.
With the house a shambles, and the truck gone - the next day we slept in. At 9:30 the door bell rings, and the guys are here to install the carpet?!? - A DAY EARLY!?! We are not ready, so much for a slow day - we raced around moving stuff from room to room. It is now the end of carpet day two. It looks good, and we have 1/2 the house a COMPLETE mess, and the other 1/2 very clean and empty. Roger has my Internet back up and running, and now the cleanup begins.

and so it begins...

Ripley making sure no-one leaves without him

The first truck arrived today. It arrived on schedule, but somehow about 2 weeks ago I found myself behind the 8 ball. Most of my time in the last two weeks as been as a receptionist. Dealing with repair men, landscapers, realtor's and the House issues in VA.
A nice clean trailer arrived today, it's depressing - I guess I feel that by them taking my stuff, it means I can't turn back. If my stuff is in VA, then I guess that is where I belong...
Kinda hard to feel like I belong somewhere I've never been.

(Seattle Sundays) - Snell WhirlyBall

When it came to the things we wanted to do before we leave - "Make more Snell Memories" was certainly at the top of the list. This is a close family, but there are still things that we hadn't ever gotten around to. We've been talking about doing WhirlyBall for 10 years. Waiting for the kids to get bigger, waiting for the money, waiting - waiting - waiting. It was one thing we had to do as a family before we left. This is NOT the last thing this family will do together. I know it feels like it - but miles will not keep this family apart.
WhirlyBall is like lacrosse in bumper cars, and come'on if you get 10 Snell's in Bumper cars - your gonna laugh your ass off!

New home in VA

We've come to an agreement on the house in VA. It was not without issue or stress, but it is a deal. We agreed on a price, only to find out that there were some deed restrictions because this is an old family farm. They split it up, and then the ex-wife sold her plot. We then had to work through a few of the restrictions.

We will be the only non-Nicholson on Nicholson lane.

Its a small farm town with the population of 6200. Not sure how well I will blend. It is about 50 miles from the capital in northern VA.
