Okay - what is this?
It looks like a cow pie, but I think it's some kind of fungus, but it's dry - and smokes when you pick it up!

Maybe you should just stop touchin' stuff out there...
It is a fungus, and the smoke is billions of spores. Frankie is right, you shouldn't be touching things you don't know what they are -- remember the poison ivy incident?
